It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
- Eleanor Roosevelt

The following organizations all rely on charitable support to fund their efforts. Several offer creative gift-giving arrangements that are perfect for holiday or birthday gifts. You donate money for a specific program and receive a card which says a donation to the following program has been made in your name. It's a great way to spread holiday joy at any time of the year.

So many charitable organizations exist that this is just a small list of our favorites. Being listed here does not offer any guaranty of an organization's charitable programs.

Doctors Without Borders

The organization operates independently of all governments, institutions, political, economic, or religious influences. Doctors Without Borders was the 1999 Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
